The Red Sands lead-in that sets up the titular Manibus quest.

By the time you reach From Chrysalis to Butterfly, the story has moved into the Red Sands desert. This quest is a direct continuation of the earlier “He Was Here” beat and leads straight into the titular Manibus quest.
Where it takes you
The quest sends you through several Red Sands locations, including:
- Blackfell
- Sunshine Farm
- White Cliff Research Lab
Expect a mix of exploration, investigation, and combat as you work through each site.
How to play it
Follow the markers between the three sites and clear what the quest asks at each. Red Sands is a higher-level region than the wetlands, so make sure your gear is re-crafted to the current tier and your main weapon is calibrated before you push deeper.
What it unlocks
Finishing this quest opens up Manibus itself, the scenario’s namesake quest, where you seek out Mayor Trent and take on a Prime War.
Tip
Red Sands hazards and enemies punish outdated gear more than earlier regions. If the desert feels like a difficulty spike, that’s your cue to upgrade your tier and calibration, not to grind levels.
